Dissertation theme
My current idea for the theme of the Dissertation project is 'How can photography and videography show the passage of time?'.
One example is Nicolas Nixon's 'The Brown Sisters', where his sisters and wife have been photographed (in the same order) once a year from between 1975-2009 (sorry for the poor image quality, but I could't find a higher quality copy of the montage).

Effect of ambient lighting in scannographs
It's interesting comparing the effect ambient lighting has on scannographs.
Take the below images for example: The first one featured standard daylight room lighting, and thus resulted in a grey background. The second one, however, was created in a darkened room, with black gloves over my hands. The resulting effect, as one might expect, is a near pitch black background
